On Wednesday, the “crookedest street in the world” (i.e. the iconic Lombard St. between Hyde and Leavenworth) will host a sixty and sexy b-day bash for the sweetest board game in the world: Candyland. The game, which Milton-Bradley debuted in 1949, will come to life on the twisted block, with children from the UCSF Children’s Hospital competing. There will be cake, too! Unfortunately, drivers (cough: tourists), the road will be closed for the event. Perhaps someone should explain to the kids that to make it to the real life “purple square,” you’ve got to climb that 27% grade incline.
