Do you remember the Linen Outlet (i.e. the world longest-running going-out-of-business business)? Well, I’m a little slow to the take on this, but new biz has finally taken it’s place at 1567 Pacific Ave (at Polk). . . and it’s pretty cool. ReMatch Sports is a sports consignment store with a twist. As a seller, you can bring in your old tennis racket or figure skates and the shop will sell them it for you in-store or via its website or other online marketplaces, for the greater of $15 or 25% of the sale price. As a buyer, you can browse and shop a wide range of sports gear, from biking to kite-surfing, in-store or online. Better yet, you can try out skiing for a fraction of the price of buying or even renting new Salomons — I found a pair of skiis for as low as $40. Just don’t practice on Polk Street; we don’t have much snow there.
