I was disappointed to see Russian Hill excluded from 7×7‘s neighborhoods issue last month, where readers contributed their own loving tales of the city as editorial content. But seeing as I never got around to crafting my own local prose for submission, I understand the choice. As it turned out, the city pub put their Nob Hill & Russian Hill content on the back burner, saving a page devoted to the neighborhoods for September’s fashion issue.
On a list of 10 things to do in Nob & Russian Hill, seven were actually located in Russian Hill, including stops at Nook, Anica, Interior Visions, Bacchus Wine Bar, Michelangelo Park, the Party of Five house, and Royal Ground. Here’s a snippet from Hannah Moon’s love letter to the neighborhood:
“I love that on sunny days I can see everyone on their roofs. I love that you are made of solid rock so I won’t slide into the ocean during the next big earthquake, but most of all I love that you made me love you, despite myself.”

ahhhh sunny days on sunny Russian Hill roofs. I miss you Russian Hill! BTW- nice choice of wp blog theme!
