Dear readers, your passports to Morocco have expired. Moroccan eatery Tajine, which just decamped to its location at 2080 Van Ness (at Pacific) in May, has closed its doors. Moving from Jones St., the restau carried loyal customers with it, as well as its well-earned Yelp ranking among the top five Moroccan spots in the city. Unfortunately, faithful friends aren’t everything — unless your pals are The Man.
Chef and owner Mohammed Ghaleb told Eater SF “that they had unfortunate lease/contract issues with the powers that be, which eventually forced them to pull the plug on the operation.” I hope they find a new location soon; I’m craving a slice of crisply baked chicken bastilla and a serving of slow-roasted belly-dancing.
