When wine snobs and art world-lings join forces, do you think their pretensions are neutralized? You can soon find out. This Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Polk’s ‘premium wine outlet’ Spencer and Daniels is hosting a wine tasting bash at Space Gallery (1141 Polk at Sutter). For a $5 advance ticket ($10 at the door), you can taste 16 wines, courtesy of S&D’s knowledgeable staff, and enjoy an art exhibit, wine giveaways, and live tunes. This apparently is the second coming of this extravaganza, and the first was a sold-out success with a line out the door. So it’s a smart move to get your tix — and dinner — early (buy them at S&D). Honestly, it does sound like a great party to me. I’ll have to swoop by after I listen to the country’s foremost erotica authors tell spicy bedtime stories at Litquake.
