I am still beside myself over the closure of Swallowtail. But the glass-half-full part of me is hoping there will be good things to come for 2217 Polk St. According to the storefront window, the prime address has already been leased. It’s no surprise — with an adorable back patio and skylights, the space is gorgeous.
While the notice in the window says not to disturb the new tenant or landlord, a number “for information of new business” was also listed. After a little reverse search, I’ve found that the number was at least once associated with Arbor Studios, a former prop rental and antique shop on Market St., which now houses an informal artists collective studio. The digits might be associated with a new business now, I can’t say. But you know I’ll be sure to get the word out when I unearth Swallowtail’s successor! Tear.

I remember back in July in a meeting is that a sandwich shop might occupy the space. Or maybe I’m thinking about a different location.
