I’ll admit I’ve lived a fairly sheltered life, but crime is really getting to me lately. My friends who live a bit over Russian Hill just heard that Franklin Market Liquors on Franklin near Lombard (blue awning) was robbed tonight. Two guys came into the store and held the customers and owner at gunpoint, stole purses, and hit the owner with a bag. Don’t know too many other details. I know this can happen anywhere, and thank God no one was hurt, but man . . . guns are scary!

Guns aren’t scary. Bad people are scary.
That said, that’s not Russian Hill. That’s not even Pac Heights. It’s Lombard. You’ll get that since it’s easy to flee across the Golden Gate Bridge. Same thing happens in Soma since it’s easy to flee on to 101 or 80.
Why do you think Los Angeles is the bank robbery capital of the US? Freeways galore!
Very true.
Guess this one is just one in a series of robberies last night.
