I stumbled on this cute little video from an SF local “reporting” on a few haunts in Russian Hill. Heads up for Hive, Za, Bacchus, Sushi Groove, Nook . . . and that creepy pedophile teepee on Hyde. It’s fun! Check it out.
“Tod’s There” also tours Polk, to see the video,
Head’s up for Lush Lounge, Nick’s Crispy Tacos, Bigfoot, and Bob’s Donuts (mmm). Warning, this one pokes a little fun!

I think they were trying to say that Polk street varies enough so that there’s something for everyone, and not necessarily in the same locale (which is good). The more non-mainstream types can do their thing in Polk Gulch. The yuppies can do theirs in Russian Hill. More blue-collar people can hang out in between or venture to both parts depending on what strikes their fancy at the moment.
It must be on the older side. Lush still exists, but it moved.
i totally take the cable car for public transportation. not all the time, but sometimes. it’s great.
